According to initial reports, a speeding car rammed into a stationary sand-laden truck on National Highway 922 (NH 922), resulting in a horrific crash.
On Their Way to Attend a Funeral
The victims, all residents of Shivpur Halt under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district, were reportedly traveling to Buxar to attend a funeral. Unfortunately, their journey turned fatal due to the crash.
Car Crashed Into a Parked Truck on NH 922
The car, carrying seven passengers, was moving from Bhojpur towards Buxar when it collided with a stationary truck loaded with sand. The rear-end collision was so intense that the car was completely mangled, especially from the front.
Accident Happened Between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM
Eyewitnesses claim the incident occurred between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM. The sound of the impact was loud enough to wake nearby residents, who rushed to the scene. The visuals were horrifying, with the vehicle crushed and passengers trapped.
Three Dead on the Spot, Four Hospitalized
Among the seven occupants of the car, three died at the scene, while the remaining four sustained severe injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. As per doctors, some victims are in critical condition.
Overspeeding – A Recurring Menace
According to locals, the car was moving at a very high speed, and due to darkness or lack of visibility, the driver likely failed to notice the stationary truck. The collision was unavoidable and catastrophic. Accidents like these are a regular occurrence in the region due to reckless driving and poor enforcement of road safety norms.
Police Investigation Underway
Local police reached the spot shortly after receiving information. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, and an investigation is underway. Authorities are also trying to identify the owner and driver of the parked truck, which had no visible warning signs.

This tragedy once again highlights the unsafe conditions on Bihar’s highways. Heavy vehicles parked without reflectors or hazard signs are a common and deadly problem. Combined with high-speed driving, especially during nighttime, such situations become recipes for disaster.
